Dr. David L. Sykes
After many years of service, Dr. Sykes is retiring from dentistry. He is grateful for the opportunity to serve so many wonderful patients who made our office his home. We wish him all the best as he begins the next chapter in his life.
Dr. Sykes has been practicing Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the Atlantic City area since 1980. He graduated with honors from Fairleigh Dickinson University, School of Dentistry, in 1975. Following dental school, Dr. Sykes served in the U.S. Army Dental Corps until 1977. He then completed his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency training at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, in 1980. Dr. Sykes is on the staff at Shore Medical Center and Bacharach Rehab Center. He is also on the teaching faculty in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Sykes is board certified by the American Board of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons and is BLS and ACLS certified.
Meet Our Staff
Connie Elwell – Office Manager
Connie serves as Dr. Sykes’ office manager and has worked with Dr. Sykes since January of 1986. She is a Certified Medical Manager, CPR certified, and has also earned her fellowship with AADOM. She belongs to the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management (PAHCOM) and is a lifetime member of the American Association of Dental Office Managers (AADOM). In 2005, she received the AADOM Office Manager of the Year Award. She lives with her husband and has 2 grown children. She loves spending time with her 3 springer spaniels at the beach and EHT nature reserve. Connie also loves gardening, kayaking, reading, fishing, and target shooting.
